VC Glendale has a thriving, well organised youth section
Although at all times fun and enjoyment is the most important element of our youth development the need was identified to nurture our youngest members to get to the next level in their racing and so the club set up our very successful Youth Academy in 2021. Supported by our coaches and parents it has become the stand out success in Irish Cycling.
In the past number of years we have had many national champions in Road Racing, Track, Cyclo-cross and MTB and high profile emerging riders such as Dean Harvey, Jamie Meehan and Darragh Doherty have all kick started their careers with us. With our young riders competing in all disciplines throughout the year aswell as regularly taking part in club leisure runs the future is definitely wearing the Belgium stripes.
Our goal is to build a solid youth racing squad that we can develop into a senior team within the next 5 years.
